OpenClaw Watch posted an update
OpenClaw’s main branch has a large session-control refactor: each physical session gets one controller for turns, queues and stopping work, replacing competing owners. The project’s commit says bundled callers and SDK migration documentation have been updated alongside it.
Why it mattersThere are breaking changes for plugin developers. Session-keyed setActiveEmbeddedRun now requires host admission, and plugin RPC context no longer exposes mutable chatAbortControllers or chatQueuedTurns. This is a meaningful compatibility signal for people building OpenClaw integrations, not a stable-release announcement. The commit also describes changes to session recovery and cancellation, but offers no user-facing benchmark to put a number on their effect.
Discuss: Should agent frameworks expose low-level session controls to plugins, or keep that authority behind a host-managed interface?
