A MakeUseOf guide argues that Microsoft’s built-in AI features in Windows 11 are less useful than PowerToys for some everyday tasks. Its Advanced Paste tool can rewrite or translate text, using an API key from a provider such as OpenAI or Azure, or a local model.
Why it mattersThat makes PowerToys a practical alternative to features the author finds underwhelming, though it is not included with Windows 11 by default. A small bit of setup, then: not quite the effortless AI future promised on the box.
