AI developers may be able to use decision models, rather than generative language models, to score agents in continuous-integration tests. In a Substack post published on 18 October, adlrocha argues that decision models can make scoring faster, cheaper and more repeatable.

Why it matters

The author says language-model judges still have a place in early development and tasks needing multi-step reasoning. It is a practical distinction for teams deciding whether every test needs an LLM’s more elaborate judgement, or whether a smaller, consistent score will do. A useful proposal, not a universal result: the supplied account does not give specific measurements from the author’s experiments.

Discuss: Should AI teams favour repeatable decision-model scores in routine testing, or keep language-model judges in the loop?
