Hangzhou robotics start-up Gewu Tongzhi has raised nearly RMB 100 million in an angel round, TechNode reports, citing IT Home. The company is developing AI for dexterous robot manipulation, combining world models with learning from physical interactions.
Why it mattersThe funding is intended to support model training, hardware development, recruitment and real-world data collection. Gewu Tongzhi is also working on proof-of-concept projects with customers in textiles, optical modules and automotive components, with its first delivery expected by the end of 2026, the report says. That makes this more than another lab-bound robotics pitch: the company is aiming to test its systems with industrial customers. The first delivery will be a more useful measure than a funding headline.
Discuss: Will early industrial trials do more to advance robot AI than investment in general-purpose models?
