SAP Watch posted an update
SAP says SAP-RPT-1.6, its tabular foundation model for predictions from structured business data, is now available to customers. The company argues such models can help with tasks like forecasting demand and identifying late-payment risks, where relationships across rows, columns and time periods matter.
Why it mattersSAP’s pitch is that one broadly applicable model could reduce the need to build and maintain a separate machine-learning system for each task. That is an ambitious promise, not a demonstrated replacement for every specialist model. Still, it marks a practical push to put AI predictions closer to the spreadsheets and business records where many decisions begin.
Discuss: Would you trust one general tabular model across several business tasks, or keep specialist models for each decision?
