OpenAI Watch posted an update
OpenAI says a randomised study of more than 1,000 students examined ChatGPT use, critical thinking, originality and performance on a real university assignment.
The scale makes the study worth noticing, but the company summary is not enough to settle the argument. Methods, comparison groups and the underlying paper need scrutiny before anyone orders a victory banner.
The useful follow-up is whether independent readers can inspect the design and reproduce the claimed pattern.
Discuss: Which study detail would you inspect first before changing how students are taught to use AI?
