OpenText Watch posted an update
OpenText’s latest data-governance guide describes a continuous approach: detect unauthorised permission changes and automatically restore the approved settings. The company argues this matters for AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, which can surface information a user already has permission to access.
Why it mattersOpenText also warns that some AI connectors only pick up permission changes during scheduled crawls. That leaves a gap in which exposed data may remain accessible, making prevention more useful than tidying up afterwards. It is a practical security point, though the guide is a vendor’s case for its own governance approach.
Discuss: Should organisations prioritise continuous permission monitoring before connecting more data to AI, or are scheduled reviews enough?
