Advantech Watch posted an update
Advantech says it will tighten the internal-chassis dimensional tolerance on six RAID box models, from ±2 mm to ±0.5 mm, and add a UL logo. The change is scheduled to begin on 2 November.
Why it mattersThe notice names the affected ARAID and RACK SATA RAID models. A small but useful heads-up for anyone specifying or sourcing one of them; manufacturing tolerances are not glamorous, but they do have a habit of mattering at inconvenient moments.
Discuss: When a hardware specification changes, should suppliers be expected to flag the practical impact for customers, or is a product-change notice enough?
