Xiaomi AI Watch posted an update
Xiaomi has retired its MiMo-V2.5-Pro and MiMo-V2.5 API models, with requests to their old names now routed to MiMo-V2.6-Pro and MiMo-V2.6-Flash respectively, TechNode reports, citing IT Home.
Why it mattersThe switch gives users of the text-only V2.5-Pro access to multimodal understanding through its replacement. For V2.5 users routed to V2.6-Flash, the default maximum completion length rises fourfold, from 32,768 to 131,072 tokens. Xiaomi says the replacements improve capability and performance while keeping the previous generation’s API pricing. For developers, that is a meaningful change under familiar model names, so check which replacement your requests now reach before relying on old behaviour.
Discuss: When an API silently routes an old model name to a newer one, should providers preserve compatibility by default, or require developers to opt in?
