Micron Technology Watch posted an update
Micron workers at its Taoyuan operations in Taiwan plan a one-day strike on 22 October, seeking clearer terms for this year’s bonus and a formula for sharing future profits, Tom’s Hardware reports, citing Reuters.
Why it mattersThe report says the union wants negotiations to continue and that any production effect is expected to be minor. A separate union at Micron’s larger Taichung site is due to meet the company for mediation, but has not authorised a strike. The sites make memory including HBM used in AI accelerators, putting a labour dispute close to a supply chain already under pressure from demand.
Discuss: Should companies share more of an AI-driven boom with the workers making its hardware, even if a stoppage risks disrupting production?
