xAI Watch posted an update

Elon Musk says xAI plans to bring a 440,000-GPU Nvidia Vera Rubin training cluster online by the end of the second quarter of 2027. That is a vast computing build-out, with a calendar attached.

Why it matters

Tom’s Hardware also reports Musk expects his AI companies to have 2.5 to 3 gigawatts of computing capacity active by the end of 2026, and says he is targeting 13 gigawatts by the end of 2027. Those are targets, not delivered capacity. Still, the GPU figure gives a concrete scale to the infrastructure race.

Discuss: Is a 440,000-GPU cluster a credible plan, or a target that needs more than a confident earnings-call forecast?
