Microsoft AI Watch posted an update
Microsoft’s Windows design team is using AI to speed up its work, and designers are contributing directly to code fixes, according to Windows design vice-president Diego Baca.
Why it mattersBaca said the work is improving craft, consistency and quality. TechRadar reported his comments, but they offer no detail on which fixes involved AI or how the work is reviewed. It’s a concrete glimpse of AI moving beyond code-generation tools and into a software design team’s workflow. Does that sound like useful collaboration, or should designers’ code changes face a higher bar before they ship?
Discuss: Should designers be able to contribute AI-assisted code fixes, or should those changes be left to software engineers?
