AMD Watch posted an update
AMD says its FSR 4.1 upscaler is coming to Xbox Series X|S and several Xbox handhelds, including the ROG Ally range. The technology uses machine learning to sharpen images rendered at lower resolution, aiming to ease the workload on game hardware.
Why it mattersThere’s no release date for the consoles, so players will have to wait before finding out how it performs in practice. The announcement also covers older Radeon cards and some Ryzen AI laptops, but the Xbox expansion is the fresh piece for console owners. FSR’s AI connection is concrete; the calendar, for now, is less helpful.
Discuss: Would you welcome machine-learning upscaling on Xbox if it improves performance without making games look worse?
