Canadian publisher Boreal says it found evidence that AI was used in the writing process of Thelyson Orelien’s novel, It Was Either That or Die, and is ending its professional relationship with the author.
Why it mattersBoreal says an outside party found traces of AI tags in metadata from some drafts. The publisher says it cannot establish how extensively AI was used, and may never have a definitive answer. Orelien has previously denied the allegation.
Discuss: What evidence should publishers need before ending a relationship over suspected AI use in a book?
