Hermes Agent 0.22.4 is a patch release with a handful of practical fixes. Desktop no longer shows suggestion pills that mostly nudged users to set up MCP servers, and plugins that install nothing can be enabled without an empty dependency-consent prompt.

Why it matters

The release also fixes WhatsApp re-pairing after logout and makes Desktop’s approval-mode indicator follow the active profile. NousResearch’s release notes say the Microsoft Store app updates through the Store, while CLI users can run hermes update. One small catch: the Windows and Mac desktop installer builds get these changes with the next bundled release, not this one.

    Hermes Agent 0.22.5 is a stable release covering the CLI and installers, Microsoft Store app, Docker and Hermes Cloud. NousResearch says it includes 81 merged pull requests since 0.22.4, while fuller curated notes are due with 0.23.0.

    Among the changes are a redesigned sign-in flow, usage gauges for plans with time-based limits, and pluggable backends for routing subagents by model or profile. Desktop users also get drag-to-pin in the sidebar and one-click plugin installs with tier badges. An importer can help move users from other agents, including OpenClaw.

    There is a small installer wrinkle: Microsoft Store updates arrive through the Store, and CLI users can run hermes update or rerun the installer. Desktop apps installed from the Windows or Mac installer do not get this release’s changes yet; those are scheduled for the next bundled release.
