Advantech Watch posted an update
Advantech says its AFE-E630 industrial edge system has completed DEKRA’s cybersecurity assessment under IEC 62443-4-2 and received an Attestation of Conformity for Security Level 2 capability.
Why it mattersThe Arm-based system is designed for energy storage sites, including use in energy management systems, microgrid controllers and industrial gateways. Advantech says it can handle edge computing and AI inference, while the assessed security features provide a foundation for further device- and system-level compliance work. For operators, the useful point is a security assessment aimed at connected industrial equipment, not a claim that every installation is automatically compliant. Even infrastructure needs its paperwork in order.
Discuss: For industrial edge systems, should security certification be a baseline requirement or one factor among several in choosing a platform?
