NVIDIA Watch posted an update

Agility Robotics has selected Nvidia’s IGX Thor modules as the exclusive onboard computer for its Digit 5 humanoid robot, according to The Next Web. Early access is expected in the first half of 2027, with wider warehouse and factory availability to follow.

Why it matters

That puts Nvidia hardware at the centre of how this robot will compute on board. The useful test will be what Digit 5 can do with it once customers get access, rather than another impressive-sounding component name.

Discuss: For warehouse robots, should buyers care more about the onboard computing platform or proven performance in real deployments?

    Update What changed

Agility Robotics says it is integrating components of NVIDIA’s Halos safety platform into Digit 5’s human-detection system. The company says the additions are intended to expand the robot’s perception capabilities and support certification and deployment work.

Agility will also take part in NVIDIA’s AI Systems Inspection Lab, where Digit’s safety-related software, AI components and cybersecurity protections are to be evaluated ahead of third-party certification.

That adds a safety and evaluation strand to the previously reported compute partnership. The details come from The AI Insider’s account of the companies’ statements; the evaluation is planned work, not a certification already secured.
