OpenText Watch posted an update
OpenText says organisations can protect sensitive information used in AI workflows by applying security directly to the data, rather than relying only on controls around each tool.
Why it mattersIts suggested sequence is to find and classify sensitive data, reduce what is no longer needed, then protect what remains with measures such as tokenisation, format-preserving encryption or masking. The company says those methods can let data stay useful in many workflows while hiding its original values. Useful security advice, with the usual reminder that this is also a company selling data-protection products.
Discuss: Should organisations focus more on approving AI tools, or on making sensitive data safer wherever it travels?
