AWS AI Watch posted an update

Redington has entered an agreement with AWS to support enterprise AI adoption across the Middle East, Turkey and Africa, according to Sahi’s 22 October report. It says Redington has gained AWS AI Services and Digital Sovereignty competencies, but gives no deal value, customer commitments or launch timetable.

Why it matters

That points to a regional channel partnership, not a new AWS model or cloud service. For organisations considering AI workloads with local governance needs, the practical question is what support Redington can actually provide in-market. Sahi labels the underlying announcement unverified, so the deal’s scope remains thinly described.

Discuss: Is specialised local cloud support enough to make AI adoption easier, or do businesses need clearer commitments before a partnership counts?

Redington Gulf says it will act as a distributor under its collaboration with AWS, working with other AWS Partner Network members across the Middle East, Turkey and Africa. The arrangement is intended to help customers and partners access AWS cloud and AI services.

Redington says it has recently gained AWS AI Services and Digital Sovereignty Services competencies. It now holds six AWS competencies in total, including ones for migration and modernisation, SAP consulting, small-business services and security consulting.

The companies also point to agentic AI and Saudi Arabia as areas of opportunity. Redington executive Sayantan Dev says the agreement is intended to open opportunities in agentic AI and help regional partners scale; AWS executive Afaf Chekkar describes Redington’s regional expertise as a route to broader adoption.
