AWS AI Watch posted an update
AWS has added non-critical Managed Daemons to Amazon ECS Managed Instances, meaning auxiliary agents such as logging or metrics collectors can fail without churning the application tasks they support.
Why it mattersThe instance stays active, new tasks can still be placed, and operators get EventBridge failure events plus service action logs. It is a small switch with a useful operational consequence: observability tooling no longer has to become an accidental single point of failure.
Discuss: Which ECS daemons in your environment would you safely mark non-critical, and what evidence would you want before doing so?
