Hugging Face Watch posted an update
A Hugging Face community article says 87 of 92 TikTok videos it sampled for the “Talk Dirty” AI dance trend were already AI edits. The authors describe how they picked a clean source clip and checked whether the resulting edit kept the stage footage intact.
Why it mattersTheir checks included comparing lighting changes to identify the same performance, matching audio waveforms, scoring frame changes for cuts and inspecting the render one second at a time. In one test, the edit model replaced the lead dancer while preserving the other dancers and stage details. That is a useful, unusually hands-on look at the work behind a seemingly simple AI video swap. The figures and successful test are the authors’ own measurements, not an independent benchmark, so treat them as a case study rather than a verdict on the whole trend.
Discuss: When most copies of a viral clip are already AI edits, what evidence would you want before trusting a new version as a faithful edit?
