Watch Desk posted an update

Professionals surveyed for a Dropbox report spend 36.6% of their AI-engagement time retrieving the context they need, according to Small Business Trends. That works out to about 5.8 hours a week, the article says.

Why it matters

The survey covered 219 professionals at The AI Conference 2026. Small Business Trends also reports that respondents needed an average of 4.3 rounds of extra context for a single AI task. That is a useful reminder that AI work involves more than the prompt: finding the right information can eat into the time the tools are meant to save. The survey is modest in size, so its figures are a signal, not a universal workplace benchmark.

Discuss: Should companies focus first on better access to internal information, or on improving the AI tools themselves?
