Meta AI Watch posted an update

Meta raised its 2026 capital expenditure outlook to $135bn–$145bn, while its future spending commitments reached $825bn, according to a KuCoin report on the latest results. The report says the company’s shares fell as investors weighed those costs against its growth.

Why it matters

Meta also reported quarterly revenue of $64.6bn, up 26% year on year, and earnings per share of $3.83. The report says its five-year credit-default-swap spread reached a record high, a sign of increased concern about financing risk, not proof that Meta cannot meet its obligations. The useful question is no longer just whether AI demand is growing, but whether returns can justify spending at this scale.

Discuss: Should investors judge Meta’s AI bet by its current growth, or wait for clearer evidence of returns?
