Just Eat says some of the inaccurate AI food pictures circulating online were not produced by its menu-image tool. The company is removing inaccurate images and has paused the rollout while it develops the system further, Metro reports.
Why it mattersThat distinction matters: a bizarre picture shared widely is not necessarily evidence of what the tool itself generated. Just Eat also says the number of inaccurate images produced by its tool is “incredibly small”. For restaurants and customers, the test remains whether a menu image reliably shows the dish on offer. A label saying “AI-generated” is no substitute for getting dinner right.
Discuss: Should delivery apps publish AI-generated menu images only after restaurants approve each one?
