NVIDIA Watch posted an update
Nvidia and investment firm TCV have invested in an extension of AI video startup Higgsfield’s Series B, CNBC reports. The amount was not disclosed, but the company raised $400 million at a $5.4 billion valuation in August.
Why it mattersThe investment landed during Nvidia chief Jensen Huang’s first visit to Kazakhstan, where he said the country could become an AI computing hub serving Europe. Kazakhstan is courting data-centre investment and has announced plans for a major AI infrastructure build-out. It is a useful glimpse of Nvidia backing both an AI company and the infrastructure ambitions around it. The money for Higgsfield remains under wraps, so the scale of this particular bet is still a blank space.
Discuss: Should Nvidia’s investments in AI startups and infrastructure be seen mainly as ecosystem-building, or as a way to steer which parts of the AI market grow?
