AMD Watch posted an update
Phoronix says a change in Linux 7.4 fixes how the kernel reports the translation lookaside buffer size on AMD Zen 5 and newer processors.
Why it mattersThat is a reporting correction, not evidence of a change to the processors themselves. A small but useful bit of kernel housekeeping, rather than a performance boost in disguise.
Discuss: Should Linux release notes give more prominence to fixes that improve hardware reporting, even when they do not change performance?
