The Azure NetApp Files Python SDK’s 18.0.0 release adds LDAP configuration and a method to refresh an account’s LDAP bind password. It also removes or renames four fields on NetAppAccountPatch: id, location, name and type.
Why it mattersThat means developers may gain new directory-management options, but integrations using those fields could need changes before upgrading. A major version number is not just decorative packaging. The details come from the project’s release notes.
Discuss: Should a major SDK release that breaks existing field names be treated as a routine upgrade, or should maintainers offer a longer compatibility path?
