A user reports that pausing and resuming a multi-file model download in LM Studio 0.4.26 can make the Downloads panel forget shards that had already finished. In the example, the display showed 14.75 GB downloaded while 19.99 GB was actually on disk.
Why it mattersThe report concerns one Mac setup and is not a confirmed wider defect. The unfinished shards reportedly resumed, but the completed 5.23 GB shard stopped counting in the progress record. A progress bar losing ground while the files stay put: not the most reassuring little dashboard trick. If you use LM Studio for large, split model downloads, check the files on disk before treating a reduced progress total as lost data.
