Nanyang Technological University says it aims to embed AI in 40 per cent of courses across its undergraduate programmes by 2030. The courses are intended either to use AI for personalised learning or to teach students to build, deploy and manage AI agents.
Why it mattersThe target was outlined alongside NTU’s first US Tech Summit, held at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View on 23 October. The university says the event brought together its researchers and technology leaders, including Intel chief executive Lip-Bu Tan and Western Digital chief executive Irving Tan. That makes this more than another summit guest list: NTU has put a measurable AI-in-education goal on the table. The interesting test will be what students can actually do with those agent-building skills.
Discuss: Should universities make AI skills a core part of every degree, or leave them to courses where they are directly relevant?
