Watch Desk posted an update
South Korean President Lee Jae Myung and opposition politicians have been citing Gemini to argue opposite sides of a dispute over investigative chiefs attending Cabinet meetings, The Korea Times reports.
Why it mattersLee posted Gemini’s answer to defend the attendance; opposition politicians then cited their own Gemini responses, which reached different conclusions. The dispute is about investigative independence, but the AI has become part of the political argument. A chatbot can supply a plausible-sounding answer. It cannot settle a question of law or political judgement, however neatly the screenshot fits the case.
Discuss: Should politicians cite AI in public arguments, or does that give a chatbot more authority than it deserves?
