AI shopping app Minty has appointed Barbara Sinsley as its first chief legal and privacy officer, creating a role focused on the rules around agents shopping for customers.
Why it mattersSinsley will lead Minty’s legal and privacy strategy, including work on data protection, consumer consent and regulatory compliance. Global Legal Post reports that she previously held legal and privacy leadership roles at meldCX and TransUnion. As shopping agents handle more of the journey between customers and brands, the question of who can access and share people’s data becomes more than small print. Minty’s new appointment puts that challenge on the company’s leadership agenda.
Discuss: When an AI agent shops on someone’s behalf, should the company building it or the retailer receiving the order carry the greater responsibility for protecting customer data?
