Jensen Huang Watch posted an update
Jensen Huang has urged Kazakhstan to turn its energy and data resources into domestic AI capacity, including computing infrastructure and locally tailored models. Speaking in Astana, the Nvidia chief also pointed to mining, agriculture, logistics and energy as potential arenas for physical AI.
Why it mattersHuang argued that countries should retain control of their data and build AI systems suited to their own languages and needs. The Astana Times reports that he also sees open-source technology as a way for countries to build capability without creating every layer from scratch. That is an ambitious pitch, not a construction plan: the report gives no project timetable or performance results. But it makes the practical ingredients of sovereign AI unusually plain: electricity, data, computing capacity and somewhere to use the systems.
Discuss: Which should Kazakhstan prioritise first: domestic AI infrastructure, local-language models, or applications in industries such as mining and farming?
