Formula 1 fans have been puzzling over broadcast shots that seem to carry a camera from the pit lane to a moving car. PetaPixel reports that digital creator Matt Amys says AI has been used for these transitions since at least the Dutch Grand Prix in August.
Why it mattersAmys says the AI creates the movement between two real camera shots, rather than generating the racing footage itself. That explanation is his account, not confirmation from F1, which did not respond to PetaPixel’s request for clarification. A clever edit, then, with a very different claim from fabricating the race.
Discuss: Should broadcasters disclose when AI creates the connecting footage, even when the shots at either end are real?
