What changed

The Browser Company has already stopped new Arc account creation as part of the browser’s phased shutdown, according to its release notes.

When Arc sunsets on 22 December 2026, user accounts will be deactivated. The company says associated personal data will be deleted within 30 days of that date.

For existing users, that makes the shutdown more than a switch to Dia: there is a firm deadline for accounts and data. The company says users can migrate passwords, bookmarks, extensions and workspaces to Dia.
