Amazon QuickSight layer maps can now display individual locations and routes from GeoJSON files, giving teams a way to plot things such as store sites, delivery paths and flights alongside their data.
Why it mattersThe AWS guide says each map feature joins to a QuickSight dataset through a shared key. Points need explicit coordinates; LineStrings connect an ordered series of coordinates. One catch: each layer displays only one geometry type at a time, so mixed files need separate layers. Useful new mapping tools, with a little data preparation required.
