Sam Altman Watch posted an update
Sam Altman says organisations may not be able to keep up with cybersecurity threats by simply patching bugs as they are found. Speaking at Stanford, he argued that AI models are advancing while many organisations have moved on after fixing the vulnerabilities already exposed.
Why it mattersAltman said defence may need to use the same technology to build a new kind of security shield. That is his proposed direction, not evidence here that such a defence is ready or that AI has made patching obsolete. Gizmodo reports his remarks.
Discuss: If attackers get more capable AI tools, should organisations put their trust in AI-powered defences, or focus first on getting the basics of security right?
