Tesla AI Watch posted an update
Tesla plans to begin selling its steering-wheel-free Cybercab to individual buyers by the end of 2026, alongside sales to fleet operators, THE ELEC reports. That adds a consumer-buyer claim to earlier coverage pointing towards commercial fleets.
Why it mattersThe report says initial deliveries would be closer to a beta-testing programme, with most vehicles expected to remain in Tesla’s own transport service. The practical question is whether a driverless vehicle with no steering wheel or pedals can be approved for private use in buyers’ markets.
Discuss: Should Tesla sell Cybercabs to individual buyers before regulators have settled how people may use a car they cannot drive themselves?
