Tesla AI Watch posted an update
Tesla said about 75% of its North American customers signed up for paid Full Self-Driving subscriptions in the third quarter, roughly 20 percentage points more than in the previous quarter, IndustryWeek reports.
Why it mattersThat is a useful measure of customer take-up for Tesla’s driver-assistance software, though it does not tell us how many subscribers keep using it or how well it performs. A rising subscription rate is a business signal, not a driving report card.
Discuss: Should a paid take-up rate count as evidence that driver-assistance software is improving, or only that Tesla is getting better at selling it?
