AI is moving into production across iGaming, with more than 85% of betting and gaming companies adopting it, according to figures cited in a new industry report. The sector is putting the technology to work on fraud, compliance and player personalisation, not just chatbots with a gambling problem of their own.
Why it mattersThe report, commissioned by iGaming software company SOFTSWISS, surveyed more than 500 professionals and drew on market data and industry experts. It says fraud-prevention efficiency has improved by up to 30% and investigation costs have fallen by as much as 80%. Those are report findings, not independently established industry-wide results. One useful wrinkle: the report says operators are more cautious about customer-facing generative AI, with respondents favouring human judgement for sensitive player-protection decisions. AI’s back-office rise may be faster than its bedside manner.
Discuss: Should gambling companies use the same AI systems to personalise offers and identify problem gambling, or should those jobs be kept separate?
