Firefox’s PDF viewer can do more than highlight and sign: MakeUseOf writer Tashreef Shareef describes using its Chatbot option to summarise a document, explain a passage, make quizzes or proofread text. The catch is that Firefox does not supply its own AI; you need to connect a chatbot such as Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini.
Why it mattersThe browser can also add text and images, rearrange pages and save a signed copy. Handy for everyday paperwork, though Shareef cautions that Firefox’s signatures are not certified e-signatures. It is a useful shortcut, not a full PDF editor in disguise.
Discuss: Would you trust a browser-linked chatbot with a PDF you are working on, or should AI document tools be kept separate?
