The Electronic Frontier Foundation warns that frontier AI models are making it faster and cheaper to find software vulnerabilities, potentially swelling the number of flaws being reported across open-source and closed-source code.
Why it mattersIts practical advice is familiar but useful: enable two-factor authentication, keep software updated and use a password manager. A small digital tidy-up is not glamorous, but neither is finding out your password was the weak link.
Discuss: Should software makers bear most of the burden as AI speeds up vulnerability discovery, or is basic digital hygiene a reasonable expectation for users?
