Fiji’s legal training workshops have cautioned young lawyers about using AI, reminding them that professional and ethical obligations still apply. The sessions covered practitioners with less than three years’ experience, according to the Fiji Sun.
Why it mattersThe workshops also addressed courtroom conduct, conflicts of interest and legal compliance. In total, 341 practitioners attended sessions across Fiji, the paper says. That is a useful warning, if not yet a practical rulebook: the report does not specify what lawyers should or should not put into AI tools. Should professional bodies set explicit rules for AI use, or are existing duties enough?
