World Labs has released Atlas, a new world model for spatial intelligence, with co-founder Fei-Fei Li highlighting “next view prediction” as its key technical idea.
Why it mattersThe approach aims to unify pixel-level generation and reconstruction, giving AI a way to reason about what a scene should look like from another viewpoint. That is a meaningful shift from predicting the next token or video frame: Atlas is trying to predict the next view of the world.
