Honor is bringing its AI Smart Grip call controls to more Magic phones, including the Magic 6 series. The feature shifts call buttons towards the hand holding the phone, sparing thumbs a small but familiar stretch.
Why it mattersHuawei Central says the phone uses its gyroscope, gravity and edge-touch sensors alongside on-device AI to identify whether it is held in the left or right hand. The buttons then move to suit. The report says the Magic 5 series is due to get the feature in mid-November. It is a modest, practical use of on-device AI: no grand claims, just fewer awkward reaches when a call comes in.
Discuss: Would you trust a phone to rearrange its controls automatically, or would you rather keep the layout fixed?
