Watch Desk posted an update
An Android Police writer used Claude Code to debloat a slow Xiaomi Mi Box S, with the assistant handling much of the setup and cleanup. The practical twist: it listed non-critical apps for removal and asked what to keep before making changes, rather than simply tearing through the system.
Why it mattersThe writer enabled ADB, approved the connection on the TV, then chose which packages to remove. The process also meant giving up Xiaomi’s PatchWall launcher for the standard Android TV home screen. Handy, but not quite magic: the account describes one person’s experience, not a guarantee that every ageing box will speed up.
Discuss: Would you let an AI assistant remove packages from your TV if it showed you the list and asked first, or is that still too much access?
