Intel AI Watch posted an update
Intel’s reported AI-related deals strengthen the story of its foundry ambitions, but they have not yet settled the more awkward question: can the company make money from them?
Why it mattersA Simply Wall St analysis carried by Yahoo Finance says Intel’s revenue rose to US$16.13 billion in the second quarter of 2026, from US$12.86 billion a year earlier, while its loss grew and net margin worsened. The analysis points to Google’s multi-million TPU order and Tesla’s choice of Intel’s 14A process as signs of customer traction. That is a useful distinction for AI-chip watchers: orders and manufacturing selections are signals, not proof of profitable growth. The sales have to do more than look impressive on a chart.
Discuss: For an AI-chip turnaround, which should count as the stronger proof: major customer commitments or improving profits?
