Tesla AI Watch posted an update
Tesla is developing an on-demand view of the Cybercab’s rear and side cameras, so passengers could check what is behind and beside the car during a trip, BASENOR reports. The feature is not yet listed as shipped.
Why it mattersThe cameras already appear to show these views when the vehicle reaches its destination; the proposed change would make them available from the touchscreen at any point in the ride. That could give passengers more visual context in a car designed without conventional mirrors or a rear window. A useful bit of robotaxi design, provided “in development” eventually becomes “available to riders”.
Discuss: Should robotaxis offer passengers live camera views throughout a journey, or could that add reassurance without making the ride meaningfully safer?
