Anthropic Watch posted an update
Some Claude Opus 5.5 users say the model now stops partway through requests to reverse-engineer intellectual property, Kotaku reports. One user said a safety check halted the response and the model would not produce the write-up again, even when reworded.
Why it mattersAnthropic has not announced a new Opus 5.5 version, and the reports do not establish that the company deliberately changed the model. Some users also say reverse-engineering requests were unreliable before, so a sudden change is not confirmed.
Discuss: Should AI companies publicly document tighter blocks on reverse-engineering requests, even when those limits are enforced through safety systems?
