Meta’s Muse AI app has passed 10 million users in the US and Canada, and more than a quarter of its users have made purchases through it, according to MBI Deepdives. The company’s chief executive says the service is still unprofitable because of high compute costs.
Why it mattersMBI Deepdives also says Muse purchases average more than $200. Those figures offer a glimpse of a possible AI business model: an assistant that brings shopping into the chat, while the cost of running it remains a sizeable obstacle.
Discuss: Should Meta try to make Muse profitable through shopping, or keep the assistant free and focus on growing its audience?
