TikTok users are turning childhood photos into polished AI edits, then revealing the original image one slide at a time. Mashable explains the format and the privacy question tucked inside the joke: taking part means uploading real photos to an AI tool.

To make the slideshow, edit the original photo in stages, arrange the images from most altered to least, and finish with the real one. Mashable cautions that image retention depends on the service and its settings, and that public images can be copied or manipulated. A before-and-after trend is light entertainment until the “before” is a child’s photograph.
